Intuitive Painting is a wonderful way of being spontaneous, out of our comfort zone, ...be with the unknown!
It is also about centering, aligning with our deeper essence so we are in a flow state, where all is still, but where creation happens.
It expresses vibrations and frequencies as much as music.
Muriel started with pouring paintings and evolved to mixed media, often using natural elements.
She draws her inspiration from nature and her travels around the globe.

Mahalo in Hawaiian language expresses gratitude.
This exhibition of paintings is my way of expressing gratitude to the island of Maui, visited in September 2023. It was one month after the Lahaina fires that destroyed lives and homes.
I could deeply feel the emotional state of the inhabitants blended with the raw beauty and power of the elements. Ocean, Wind, Sun, Earth would also mix with my own emotions at the moment. I found healing among the jungle and the waterfalls. I heard ancestors voices on top of Haleakala volcano and within,. I had insights while contemplating the sea turtles…
When I came back, they spoke through me again with the songs of the album Mahalo, and these paintings.
I used mixed media to express the elements (modeling paste, crackle paste, ashes, shells, moss) and my approach was very intuitive. I did not decide what I would do precisely, and sometimes would be surprised by the result.
I am a singer-songwriter, musician, and music comes through me, sometimes lyrics and then music, other times, music then lyrics, sometimes all at once. It is all about vibrations and frequencies. I do not separate visual art from music because it is also vibrations : colors are a representation of a specific frequency. The way they blend brings another.
I wanted to offer this project to the world as One event: you get to hear the songs live and immerse yourself in the paintings.
Mahalo is a work of gratitude and 50% of paintings’s proceeds go to Non-profit Rebuild Maui, an organization helping residents build new homes and facilitate mental health and healing to recover from the fires.
