Yoga

Muriel was first introduced to yoga 22 years ago while living in Japan and pregnant with her second daughter. The breathwork and specific postures she had learned helped her manage labor and easy delivery.
When she moved to the U.S 16 years ago, she got back to it practicing hatha, Iyengar, kundalini and got hooked with bhakti yoga. She loved the community and it helped her integrate into this new country.
Breath synchronized movement and meditation facilitated her connection with her inner presence, calming her mind, and grounding in her body.
In September 2025, she chose to deepen her practice, learning more about the philosophy behind the physical aspects of yoga. She embarked on her 200-hour teacher training with Karen Weber (Fox Valley Yoga TT) with a Hatha yoga program rooted in an ancient lineage (Himalayan Sri Vidya), combining the teachings of Krishnamacharya, BKS Iyengar for correct alignment, and Pathabi Joi’s for Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow.
For Muriel, Yoga is a way of life, on and off the mat. She loves to share the benefits of regular practice with students, helping them focus on their own true self, finding the Oneness we all are, and empowering them through nada yoga (yoga of sound) during class. Having studied mantra yoga, and sound healing with the voice, Muriel sings and plays as a percussionist in two kirtan bands (devotional chanting).
